Well, I was slow to respond to this one. I do have respirators in stock. But no surgical masks. I have family members who can't wear respirators so the masks are the alternative. I did go out and beef up my food stockpile. I plan on going out and see if any dust masks are available (no one has surgical masks available). I also need to increase my stock of nitrile gloves.

Something to keep in mind. There are viruses and bacteria out there, designed and in the wild, far deadlier than this one. What makes this one particularly troublesome, is its ability to hide from known screening sources and it's ability to reinfect. It's the secondary infection that is the most deadly. If this thing we're the pure quill from the lab, it would be killing in the billion range. As it is, it's a mutation. Estimates range from 2-4.5 million dead worldwide from this one. Just as with ebola, we will never be told the truth of that, though the leak out of Los Alamos at 4.5m is probably a more accurate estimate than we would normally see. Remember, that's 4.5m against a world population of 7.5 billion or .06% of its population. That's within the same standard deviation range as deaths by alcohol related sources. www.who.int/substance_abuse/facts/alcohol/en/It's not to the level of run for the hills yet, but it is to the level of taking extra precautions and avoiding crowds where and when you can.

Got out today and purchased dust masks (Home Depot) and nitrile gloves (Sams). Looked at a couple of places for surgical masks and still none available.

I have food bought up. I have n95s and dust masks. I bought up some acetominophin and ibuprofen (I understand most of these come from china). I am getting a few more bottles of vitamin D, C, and E. The wife wants to go look for powdered buttermilk. I am getting some bleach and vinegar (for basic surface cleaning). someone told my brother to smear triple antibiotic cream on the nose to help prevent catching it. (That doesn't make sense because this shouldn't do anything against a virus.) I am going to buy some because I discovered that I didn't have any (just for regular skin injury use).
What am I forgetting? I, of course, saw all the above info about herbs.

IMO, THE most important thing to remember is this:
Panic is a mind killer. Without your mind, your body dies.
In times of crisis, solid critical thinking will save your life.

Perspective: www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/index.htmlTo date, COVID-19 has been less deadly than standard influenza. The real difference between them is ease of spread. COVID-19 spreads much easier than influenza, but the mortality rate so far is lower. As said, panic is a mind killer. It leads to herd mentality as more and more people panic. That has lead to the potential of this killing the global economy. The talking heads and politicians need to get their sh** together and realize their actions and words are doing more harm than the virus ever could. No sane person wants the apocalypse that would follow should the global economy completely implode. I suggest people here spread that word to all they know.

good point. I have told people that they should not be preparing because of the coronavirus, they should just be preparing in general. I was taking a walk in the neighborhood today and saw that the mail carrier was wearing nitrile gloves. I had not thought of possible exposure thru my mail.

Could be right, but this was snipped from the same piece: -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The paper did not say that all coronavirus patients will suffer permanent fibrosis." “However, since the natural history of COVID-19 pneumonia is yet to be fully explored, it is too early to label these lung changes as irreversible fibrosis,” the researchers wrote. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On this site, we are people who actively work to plan ahead and prepare - because that is what we do. Fortunately we are already stocked up on food, water and supplies. The next step is to respond according to your gut instinct, then eventually decide when to go into hunker down mode. Much of that is specific to where and how you live.
From my perspective, it is simply a time for caution and awareness.

SIL went to store today. No chlorox or Lysol products. No soap. Only thing on the shelves were 4 bottles of alcohol. We are the people who are supposed to be ready. However, I am a little concerned about the run on the cleaning supplies. I might not have enough supplies to clean our toilet bowl!!!!! LOL.
