About two weeks ago, I sold a huge number of large batteries all over the country - literally wiping out my inventory. The same thing is happening at the factory level. Their "bulked up" Spring inventory is all but gone.
Some of those batteries are intended to be used to hunker down in place at home and others to escape major metro areas. People with large motorhomes have headed out to open country or remote forest areas ready to isolate for quite a long time. Same with larger boats, small off-grid cabins and larger ranches/farms - all wanting to start with fresh battery banks for their solar systems. In speaking with these customers, it quickly becomes obvious which ones know exactly what to do.
Others have no concept of what it is going to take to be even a little bit self-sufficient for a few weeks, let alone months. Panic does weird things to people so they won't listen when I point out the pitfalls. I suspect that many already carry the virus and don't know it.

The number of things being proven wrong that the CDC and WHO have put out on the subject has grown yet again.
This time it's the susposed temperature that it dies at. With an outbreak in Saudi Arabia, Miami, New Orleans etcetera, it becomes obvious that information was wrong.

Panic will kill just as much as the virus or whatever other disaster will.

SHELTER IN PLACE FOR :Ohio Louisiana Delaware California New York New Jersey Illinois Connecticut Michigan AND NOW WISCONSIN. STARTS IN A FEW DAYS HERE. Any others? None that are publically announced yet. Alabama and Tennessee should be announcing soon though. Haven't heard from Georgia yet, but at a minimum, Atlanta should have already locked down. Why they haven't is anyone's guess. Georgia

Cases in Tennessee blew up this past week. Particularly in Nashville, Memphis, and to a lesser degree Knoxville. That should read Vanderbilt, Rhodes, and UT colleges post spring break. I don't think Tennessee will last the week before declaring.

Cell phone heat map developed during spring break and into this past week. Note the bright white edge on Florida's eastern beaches. Compare the intensity to Chicago and NYC. It's saying volumes when it's brighter than either of those cities. Then there is the fact that such a map exist at all. Big data/brother is watching.

Big brother is always watching
I went down recently because I split a glass of cola on my computer, it's acting up and may go down again. When it does I intend to get a new one so if I go dark, I'll be back soon

I have backed up what I know how, maybe one of the admins can pm me with directions, I have space on an external drive I think would work, none on my c drive though. As far as this site or any other, you would have page, cookie, and cache files on your local system. Page files: temporary memory on your drive that swaps back and forth with your system memory Cookie: a server will send your system a cookie/I.D. text string for reference the next time you visit the page. If done ethically, it speeds up loading. Unethical is when it sends other data. Cache file: storage of a Web page data on your local system to speed up loading it when you next access it. None of those need be backed up. You will be required to input your user I.D. and password when next you load the page. Given how cheap netbooks are these days, you might consider one. If not, whole systems are also relatively cheap as well. Spilling a coke on one is not good for it and can cause delayed failure. You may not have killed it though as that requires the coke to have gotten on the motherboard.

A traveler from New York who tested positive for COVID19 flew into Jax yesterday. He was intercepted during screening and now must self quarantine for 14 days. He said "I thought I was all better".
Rather than self quarantine he should be jailed. This selfish idiot put everybody on that plane and others he came in contact with at risk.
Stupidity will spread this virus faster than anything else.

Everyone on that plane should have been quarantined. While not as outright deadly as some others, it's the most infectious of its kind. A plane with an infected person on board is turned into an incubator for covid19.

www.foxnews.com/media/doctor-david-price-coronavirusThat seems to be a recurring theme among Doctors. Which btw, an airplane, bus, or car certainly fits the description of a "very closed room." Especially airplanes and cruise ship cabins that share ventilation.

I would rather have them (and everybody) just stay home. Crash you are right! I've driven around to observe activity during these times. Local supermarkets, Family Dollar, Dollar General, etc., all have a large volume of vehicles in their parking lots. People are not staying home enough. Just maybe all these stores need to be shut down completely. Drug stores also, they can make home deliveries if meds are needed. That's the only way this situation will improve drastically I think. If the elderly need things they should be allowed to call local people in law enforcement, firefighters and even churches for assistance.

Especially airplanes and cruise ship cabins that share ventilation. I cannot scream loud enough that everyone has lied over and over about "MASKS AREN'T NEEDED BY THE HEALTHY." YES they are when having to go out to get food for elderly or the family we help. Or when our FIL or Mom go out during the designated hours -- failure of grocery delivery is ongoing in Milwauke, Florida, California and Chicago of necessities and refrigerated foods. So they have to go out. And they should be able to get and wear MASKs.
Masks should go to 1st reponders YES but since I had the foresight to buy a few (and I mean just a few) for DH and me, we have them for the times we need them. COSTCO, and other large grocery stores which are well ventilated, it is unlikely it will aersolize intensely enough to infect if you are keeping your social distance at all times. But with a mask, it would also keep you from touching your face!
I have such a long rant in my heart over this final issue but I have to stop now.
