Here is the basic info - I will leave to each to decide for themselves the validity... I changed the Names on the following conversation. With just a bit of effort there is more then enough information to locate the herbalist on facebook... I have also seen claims they have a vaccine in the works that they are "rushing" through I don't have the links handy atm but it was a research bunch in California.
Echinacea for corona virus
We've all been here before. It was called Sars, Mers, H1N1, H5N1 ...and the news were about as panicky and hysterical then as they're now. Color me cynical ... I think there's going to be a corona vaccine any day now. Problem is, the vaccine companies throw these out without any testing whatsoever, because they have no responsibility for adverse effects - whatsoever.
Countries will want to buy millions if not billions of doses, which means that these kind of flu vaccines are very very very easy money for big pharma. Just don't go there. Next, tamiflu doesn't work, and is in fact outright bad for you. (Yes, really. I was as surprised at this piece of news as you are.)
What's left? If you get hit with any influenza at all, (including this one):
1) Stay in bed for at least seven days. You won't be able to get up anyway during the first three days, but just sit tight, don't do anything, for a full week. Yes, it's boring, but it's better than the alternative: opportunistic infections, the worst of them being pneumonia.
2) Take vitamin D (in large enough doses) and drink low-sugar berry juices {Black currant juice, black elder juice (half a mug of hot juice every half hour or so)}, loaded with vitamin C, or take vitamin C in large enough doses.
3) Lay off the sugar. That's no sweets, honey, bread, rice, potatoes and so on. Simple carbs are banned for the duration. Soups, broths. Lots of fluids
4) Herbally, Echinacea has been shown to clobber ALL influenza viruses except for adeno (which has a different structure). That includes corona, sars, mers, H1N1, H5N1, parainfluenza, influenza A, influenza B ... the works.
Take it often, rather than only 3x/day.
So 10 drops every 10 minutes, 30 drops every 30 minutes, and forget the myth that you shouldn't take it long-term ... you should absolutely take it for as long as you still suffer from this particular virus. And a few days after that too, in order to avoid all opportunistic bugs.
Put the drops in @1 oz of water (shot glass), and hold in mouth for 30 seconds before swallowing – you get faster/better absorption from the mucosal membranes of the mouth.
Grab enough of it, make enough of it, you'll go through oodles if and when you need it, so keep it in the house.
How to make the tincture:
100 g fresh flowering aerial parts
200 ml 95 % alcohol (or as high as you can get)
Chop the herb, put the ingredients into a glass jar, let steep for 2-3 weeks, strain, bottle, label. You're done.
5) Avoid aspirin or NSAIDS. They increase viral shedding (spreading to others) and extend the duration of active infection. Their anti-inflammatory effects are thus also immune-suppressing. Take diaphoretics and antispasmodics for the discomfort of fever. (Diaphoretics: herbs that help you sweat, like elder flower or yarrow) (Antispasmodics: herbs that stop cramps, like valerian and viburnum).
Much love from Henriette
With the Goldenseal: For sore throat: 10 drops in just enough water to gargle with really good; do 3 times a day for duration of illness. Swallow when done gargling. Can help fight off 2ndary infections.
The following is a conversation that was about this issue...
R: What would be the next best suggestion for those that are allergic to everything in the echinacea family?
Henriette's herbal: Black currant juice, black elder juice, reishi ...vitamin C, vitamin D, rest rest rest ...
A: how would you dose the elderberry for corona?
Henriette's herbal: Half a mug of hot juice every half hour or so.
K: That's new to me. The 3 year roots are harvested for medicinal purposes.
Henriette's herbal: But the fresh greens of Ech purp were the most effective, when tested ... Ech purp doesn't have all that much root anyway, so yay!
M : Do you only use the aerial part of the plant? No root?
Henriette's herbal: Fresh greens are the most potent, according to research. Surprised the researchers too.
M: wow. That is really good to know. Saves a lot of plants and work.
A: This seems a lot of echinacea. Are there any studies on safe doses?
K: What is your opinion about echinacea being a TH1 stimulant? I've read others suggestions that one should stick with anti-inflammatory herbs once this virus takes hold, or risk a cytokine storm.
C: Can you make it with dried herb? Or does it have to be fresh?
Henriette's herbal: Fresh greens were the most effective when tested. You can of course try dried, it'll be better than no Echinacea :-)
T: fresh from Purp or Ang? Thanks!
Henriette's herbal: Over here it's Ech purpurea, but take what you have.
T: Thanks Henriette! I usually use Purpurea, which grows beautifully here.
S: I've used homemade dried plant E angustifolia routinely when dealing with bacterial infections. You need good quality dried root, and the tincture should have an obvious tingle on the tongue when you taste it.
L: Grapeseed Extract, magnesium, Zinc... As well!
C: May be helpful to keep in mind a person remains contagious with influenza for 7 days after they're symptomatic and a couple.days prior to onset of the illness.
L: Fabulous thank you can you tell me the ratio for the dried herb please
L: Don't forget Garlic!!
T I ran across this study today showing that elderberry is effective against carona virus..
J: I would use elderberry and echinacea together for the duration
