Stopped by the local farm and feed store that is selling guns/ammo and they had more than they could sell. No restrictions on quantity. The local walmart is slowly coming back into stock.
.22 223 556 9mm 40 45 it was all there in mass quantities. I bought what the wallet/wife would allow but that has to be good news, right?

I was in Academy yesterday and they had everything BUT .22, 40 and 9mm... Walmart here is stripped clean. Bass Pro Shop today had very little pistol ammo (if only I'd bought that 454 Casull..lol..plenty of ammo for that) and no reloading powder or primers

Was the 22 regular price or still too high? I'll sure be glad to see some, the grand kids are ready for summer plinking. I haven't done any ammo shopping recently due to paying off bills and credit cards, and likely won't look around until after that's taken care of.
The folks who swarm the sporting goods stores here are New Yorkers as opposed to locals. I found that out by deciding one day to become part of the "early" crowd that comes by before the stores open up.

It was $2 for 50. Ahh, not the best but they have it. I picked up a few boxes cause the wife is thinking really hard about starting to shoot and I am loving it. The 556 was 19ish for 2 boxes. I have not calculated excatly what it cost me to reload but I can't help but think with my time investment that under $10 a box isn't darn close to it.

Walletwife. I have no idea what you're referring to. Since this whole mess started, I've avoided even looking for ammo. Fortunately, I have enough to be comfortable with. I did pick up 800 rounds of 223 for a friend of a friend for 400.00 and then he tells me it's too much. Ah well, it won't go bad.

I don't look often but every now and again I happen upon a good deal. I found 556 at wally world for $6.25 per 20. Are you kidding. That is at least as low as before this mess went down.

Our Dick's had toys back in stock after having taken them ALL off the shelves in December. Ammo was far less plentiful (as everywhere in our area).

Which is why I wouldn't buy anything from Dick's.. if he can't stand with when the heat's on then I don't want to stand with him when it's calm.

When I stopped by my local Walmart this morning, they still had twenty boxes of Federal 55gr fmj .223 in bulk packs of 100 for $35.00 this morning. They also had some more Tula Brass Maxx in 50 round packs for $16.00 each. The ammo guy said that they received 58 boxes of .223 yesterday, and that buying was slowing down a bit. He said that I could buy half of what was left because he's getting it in pretty much every week now.
Remington and Winchester 12ga 1oz slugs are still a decent deal at $12. per box of 15 rounds.
Interestingly, there was a wide variety of Tulammo steel in .40, .45. 9mm, 380, 308 and 7.62x39. Never saw so much black and red in the Walmart ammo case.

Nothing was initially taken down from the Dick's shelves by corporate order. A jack of a female came in, pretty much made a political statement (supposedly one of the mothers who lost her kid that day), and persuaded the manager to remove anything that was a firearm. We never had ARs in that store to begin with; even before December. The employees behind the counter weren't too happy about the decision either. I only buy from Dick's to keep them employed as there is no other sporting goods store here at all that sells ammo and firearm accessories. Nearest would be Cabela's and that more than an hour drive from our local Dick's.

Hmm, Ours had them and yanked them immediately. I don't know who gave the order, but I stand by my convictions on this. I understand that it's sometimes hard to do so given certain circumstances. For me, if I know a company has done anything to further the anti's conditioning and agenda, they never get another dime from me.

For me, if I know a company has done anything to further the anti's conditioning and agenda, they never get another dime from me. I can understand our manager's decision to a certain extent. If he refused to take down the guns: I can guarantee that the female (I refuse to call her a woman, and I won't call her for what I think she is on here due to not getting into trouble) would've gone as public about the decision as she possibly could. I know that our local newspaper would've crucified the manager, and that's not taking into account what other CT outlets would've done. As far as support goes from the other side: never mind the gun owners. Pro-2A folks out here are a very tiny minority compared to the rest of the population.
